2019

House Bill 149 – Abandoned Building Revitalization

This bill would provide tax incentives to building owners interested in revitalizing abandoned buildings in communities throughout Wyoming. To learn more about the bill, click the here.

Status: House Bill 149, or Abandoned Building Revitalization Bill has passed House and has been assigned to Senate Minerals, Business & Economic Development Committee. It will be discussed on Wednesday, February 20th, 15 minutes after Noon Recess.

Senate File 78 -Archaeological human burial sites

This bill is important due to fact it creates protocol if human remains are found during an archaeological survey. It is supported by the Wyoming State Historic Preservation Office and the Wind River Reservation. To learn more, click here.

Status: Senate File 78 has passed Senate and House.

Senate Joint Resolution 3- Wyoming’s Women Suffrage Day

This was a Joint Resolution to recognize December 10th as Wyoming Women’s Suffrage Day.

Status: It was signed by Governor Mark Gordon on February 13th.


2018

Senate File 101

Last year, Senate File 101 was proposed due to the fact that certain members of the legislature believed that the federal government’s implementation of the National Historic Preservation Act undermines the rights of private property owners, inhibits economic activity critical to the state of Wyoming and suppresses revenue to the state, local and federal governments. The bill was stopped in the House Minerals committee before it could make it too Senate, but the belief that the National Historic Preservation Act remains in Wyoming.
