Alliance for Historic Wyoming (AHW) is hosting A LOT of community events in 2020 throughout Wyoming. This year we will work with 10+ communities to demonstrate that historic preservation works. During the entire month of May, communities across the state will be hosting activities to celebrate historic preservation. A city or county nominates a business located in a historic building and works with the owner to host an event to highlight how historic preservation works with the local economy.

This tour will provide a behind-the-scenes look at the rehabilitation of the Frontier Prison’s Historic Guards’ Quarters. Participants will learn from the experts about the process of rehabilitating a historic masonry structure listed on the National Register of Historic Places. There will also be an optional tour of the Frontier Prison.

What is an Unbarred Tour?

Unbarred tours are one-day tours of historic buildings, site or landscapes around wyoming, many off the beaten path. They provide participants the opportunity to see sites that are privately owned, not normally open to the public or otherwise inaccessible.


Unbarred Event Levels

Historic Preservation Month Levels

Wyoming Preservationist ($500): Logo on posters, website, a highlight on our social media, & your logos present at the tours. 

Historic Hero ($250): Logo on posters, website, a mention in the press release, & your logo on tour material. 

Community Supporter ($150): Logo on posters, website, & tour materials.
